DOI and Permanent Archiving with OSF

We are excited to announce that starting in March 2024, Open Clinical Annals will be leveraging the Open Science Framework (OSF) to enhance the accessibility and permanence of our published articles. This partnership with OSF allows us to ensure the long-term archiving of all published content, providing a reliable and sustainable platform for researchers and readers alike. Additionally, each article published in Open Clinical Annals will now be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through OSF, further enhancing its visibility and citability within the scholarly community. We believe that this integration of OSF into our publication process reinforces our commitment to transparency, accessibility, and the dissemination of high-quality research in the field of medicine and healthcare. New Submission Type - Clinical Images

Open Clinical Annals is thrilled to introduce a new submission category: Clinical Images! Starting from April 1st, 2024, we are now accepting submissions of interesting and insightful clinical images accompanied by a brief narrative providing background on the case. This exciting addition aims to enrich our journal with visual representations of medical cases, offering a unique perspective on various aspects of patient care, diagnosis, and treatment. Authors are invited to submit high-quality images along with descriptive narratives of a few hundred words, highlighting the clinical significance and relevance of the case depicted. We believe that Clinical Images will enhance the diversity and depth of content in Open Clinical Annals, providing readers with valuable insights and facilitating further discussion and learning within the medical community. We look forward to receiving your submissions and sharing these compelling visual stories with our readers!

Furthermore, we uphold our dedication to supporting authors by eliminating any charges for publication.

Articles accepted for publication in Open Clinical Annals are published online and exclusively in electronic format. Our journal operates on a rolling basis, meaning that articles are published promptly upon acceptance, allowing for rapid dissemination of new discoveries and insights. As our journal grows, we anticipate regularly compiling articles into volumes and issues to facilitate navigation and access to content.


For permanent archiving and to ensure each published article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), Open Clinical Annals partners with the Open Science Framework (OSF). This ensures the longevity and accessibility of all published content.

With a diverse background as a medical generalist, Lucas has a keen interest in infectious diseases, driven by his experiences as an independent researcher based in Belmopan, Belize.


Dr. Costa's journey in the field of medicine has been marked by a commitment to bridging gaps in healthcare and promoting evidence-based practices. His dedication to addressing global health challenges has led him to spearhead initiatives aimed at promoting access to quality healthcare in underserved regions.
